Following the attack on the Deputy Sen. President’s House yesterday, Mr. Yusuf, a leader of a criminal gang, has been nabbed by security operatives.

On speaking to investigators at the police headquarters in Abuja, the 25 years old leader of the gang said “he never knew that the house he broke into, was the house of a big man”. According to him, there was no security personnel on duty as at when they arrived the senator’s place of residence.

The Suspect also claimed that, he and his gang broke into the house to look for money but was caught as his members fled.
According to Jimoh Moshood, who is a police spokesman said that the police men who were on duty have been arrested as well as a civil defence corp member.

On Tuesday, the Deputy Sen. President, Ike Ekeremadu while addressing the senate, said that, a group of persons broke into his home in the early hours of the morning to assassinate him.

According to the Police, all investigations that has been conducted failed to confirm the Senator’s claims of a failed assassination attempt, rather, a case of burglary and robbery.

In a recent development, the Southeast governors has called on the police force to carry out a thorough investigation on the case.

The southeast governors who refused to believe the case was a mere burglary incidence, urged the police force to ensure it apprehends all persons involved.
