The Umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has proven to be big enough as it has continued to receive and accommodate more APC defectors from various parties especially the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Just Yesterday, the PDP in Delta State, led by its chairman, Barr. Kingsley Esiso and the Governor of the State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa popularly known as “the Road Master” for his unrelenting commitment to construction of road networks across the state, received over five thousand APC defectors led by Hon. Chief Andrew Orugbo, a former attorney general and commissioner in the state.
In his speech, the Chairman, Barr. Kingsley Esiso commended the people of Udu, who hosted the Governor and the PDP Chieftains, stating that he is happy that the People have decided to change the narrative.
He further said that, the return of his Brother, Chief Orugbo is a proof of the fact that come 2019, it is guarantee that the people of Udu community will pull a victory for the PDP.
While speaking, the Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, urged the people to protect their voters card and refuse to be intimidated by anyone.
“With our voters’ cards, we will get victory, keep working in unity, let us do everything together as members of the PDP family, we don’t discriminate and I welcome all of you who have returned to your home, the PDP,” said the governor as he encouraged the people on the need for unity in order to emerge victorious come 2019.
Also, speaking on the state’s Local Government Council’s inability to pay its teaching staff, the governor revealed that, the government has disbursed a sum of 12 billion naira for the payment of the salaries owed by the L.G.As to the teachers.
The governor made a whooping promise to renovate the much dilapidated Ovwian Grammar School between now and December, that is within a period of two months, he will transform the appearance of the school. This delighted the Udu people much that they pledged their total commitment to the Governor come 2019
